Dumb name for realz. I wish a had a reason to get one.
I think they know it’s stupid, but it’s a sure way to get a lot of pub. Look at twatter.
I think it was going to be interesting to see who would bring it up on here first.
I like the concept though. I’d run one of those and a desktop. But I already have a mini dell. For the expected price of one with a decent amount of hd space, I’d wouldn’t be worth it to me.
I have been thinking about this…first of all – I haven’t seen it in person. But it seems like a waste. It can’t do what I really need – like my laptop can. But – it would be good for ipod-like things and I guess it is lighter. I just read this article (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/28/technology/companies/28apple.html) from the NYTimes – and I just don’t know enough about technology (or market research or what the cool hip kids like) to know whether something will be accepted by the population at large and be the next best thing. I don’t think the ipad (lame name) is.
The last big art conference I went to it seemed like the silver mac laptop was the status thing everyone had open/out/around to garner hipness and respect. As someone said – it is the new beret for artists.
